Claremont is known for its 140 acres of developed parks, tree-lined streets and its academically acclaimed Claremont Colleges. This community takes pride in its rich cultural, educational and architectural heritage, as well as its small-town atmosphere.

Reboot

-Write your vision down so you have a visual picture and stay focused. See the vision before you even see the vision.

*You must be willing to move out of your comfort zone.

-make a list, target areas that make you uncomfortable and challenge yourself to move out of your comfort zone.

About Gail:

Gail is an Author, Speaker, and Life Coach with a passion for empowering individuals to live life from a position of purpose and passion. Corporations, community organizations, churches, and educational institutions (from elementary to college) share how their lives were changed by Gail’s ability to encourage, motivate, and inspire change. Gail is the Director/Owner of Processed for Purpose. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Certification in Addiction Treatment Counseling, and she will graduate in June with her Masters.

ABC Inland Empire was very proud of our first annual Wedding Workshop and All Member’s Meeting! The first part of the day began with our Wedding Workshop for event planners. Our ABC-IE members had the honor of learning from amazing individuals in the industry who educated us on the various resources available for use as planners. Our event took place on April 13, 2017 and was hosted by the wonderful Sheraton Fairplex in their ultra chic conference center.

Lisa Marie Blinn from L Marie Events gave us her expert advice about Increasing your Revenue with ABC Partnerships and Creating Productive Vendor Relationships. Lisa Marie a PWP with ABC, walked us through partnerships with sandals and hotels. She also shared how to be effective when creating incredible teams to work with and how to keep them on the right path to success.

Our next special guest Aisle Planner focused on the big picture and the importance of every last detail.

Aisle Planner’s tips will help change how you plan your events by providing business tools to “run

your business like a well-oiled machine “. They touched on how to use the Aisle Planner”s wedding

planning, design and collaboration tools to help your company streamline the process and keep your

business moving forward.

Our last special guest All Seated joined in to lend us their expert advice about the concept behind designing floor plans using a few simple tools. All Seated is a collaboration network for planning events, geared towards saving you time and make life simple. They are a team of entrepreneurs fusing technology, strategy, domain expertise and passion to disrupt the events industry.

Education is key! Our ABC-IE members started their morning off with our Wedding Workshop for event planners. Thrilled to have had on board guest speakers with a plethora of event planning knowledge. ABC-IE would like to say thank you to our guest speakers for an unforgettable educational experience.

Our evening All Members Meeting took place on the beautiful lawn with a picturesque view of the Sheraton Fairplex. Executive Chef Adam Haverland spoke about the amazing food they grow and the process of going from Farm to Table. He indulged us with a five-course dinner using local, sustainable ingredients handpicked from the hotel’s own five-acre organic farm. This was truly a treat!

Most of us set goals at the beginning of the year, but how many times do you get the chance to bounce those ideas, strategies, and goals off of your peers? During our first meeting of 2017 we were able to connect with one another, share our triumphs, successes, and challenges, and to build a community of support among us. We gathered on the evening of January 24th, 2017 at the Embassy Suites Ontario Airport located in the western part of the Inland Empire. We were excited to hear from our members and connect them together based upon like goals.  Whether your focus was on social media/blogging techniques or finding it hard to balance work life & home life, there was a place for everyone to fit in and connect.

Summer Party and Scavenger Hunt (July 2016)

If you attend networking meetings on a regular basis you know how each meeting tries to out do every other meeting. This isn’t always either. The plannig committee is constantly trying to bring in new guest speakers, new networking idea, scavenger hunts and such to make the meetings fun.

Yes you heard that right, the great team over at Doubletree Ontario Airport set up the first ever ABC Inland Empire Scavenger Hunt.

Members and guests were divided up into teams and then sent off through the hotels event spaces to capture photos with a great prize for the team that took the best photos. The results were spectacular.

The top photo was taken by the winning team who really let their creativity shine.

On top of the scavenger hunt Raphael and his team gave us some delicous appetizers and dinner that would set the bar pretty high.

Ultimate Music Entertainment Company played some great music and got the dance floor hopping for an after party feel, course their up lighting gave the room just the right feel. Bella Rue Fine Florals added the flair to the room with some gorgeous arrangements. The bright colors popped in the room and definitely drew your eye to them. Everything was pulled together by the design talents and decor from Stephanie Wiltz Events.  Stephanie pulled everything together to make each individual elemnet (and venodr) work together to make the room sparkle. Course what event is complete with out some yummy deserts provided by Sweet Art Cakes and the yummy bites the provided had everyone’s sweet tooth screaming

Annette Hoegner, wife, mom, friend, daughter and Event Planner Extraordinaire!

I have had the opportunity to work side by side with Annette as Co-Directors of ABC Inland Empire and think she is pretty special. Not only does she plan wonderful weddings, but she is the confidant and sound voice of reason for those that just lost a loved one. I am honored to have gotten to know her over the last few years and can’t wait to see what she does in the future!

We interviewed Annette a few days ago and here is what she had to say…

How long have you been in business?

10 years

 

Why did you become a planner?

I loved events and I also wanted a way to stay home with my kids during the day and this was the perfect match.

 

What fuels your passion of being a wedding planner?

I LOVE those few moments with the bride before I send her down the aisle. It is always fun to sit back and watch them enjoy their day after month’s and sometimes years of planning.

 

What do you like most about the industry?

The people, we are fun!

 

What can we expect from Annette and Classic Touch Events in the future?

I intend to maintain where I am at while my kids are still young. Not quite sure beyond that.

 

What is your favorite pastime?

I love having dinner and shopping with girl friends and watching movies on the couch with my husband and kids

 

What is you biggest pet peeve?

Those that put others down to try to get ahead and make themselves look better.

September 2015: End of Summer Affair

Well our crew in the IE definitely knows how to end the summer!  We had a blast dancing the night away at our last meeting of the year. We got an early start on celebrating and ending 2015! A huge thank you to all of the vendors who sponsored our event. The evening was spent at the Radisson – Ontario Airport.  Travis and his team was so gracious and hosted a wonderful party.

Thanks to Racquel’s Linens for provided such beautiful linens.  The colors were so vibrant and definitely made the room come to life.  And Flawless Flowers did an amazing job with the florals.  The arrangements complemented the color scheme so well and the mix of antique gold vases that Falynn added as an accent gave the decor an elegant touch.  She sure does have an eye for style and helped Erika’s Elegance Weddings and Events bring the event to life.

I think that all the guest would agree that one of the biggest highlights of the night was the Margarita Bar provided by Night Owl Productions.  The beautiful canisters and the vibrant colors were very pretty, but the mix of drinks was the icing on the cake.  Katie mixed drinks from mango & lime to cucumber surprise, which was definitely my favorite.  Did I say it was an absolute hit!!! Our dessert bar was provided by Mix Bake Decorate.  Ashley’s desserts were amazing and my mouth waters just thinking about that night.

And the guys from Heart Sound Entertainment had the crowd up on their feet all night long.  We had an awesome time at the last event of the year dancing the night away.   One awesome feature from their services is being able to type in your song request on the IPAD and hitting the dance floor minutes later.  How cool is that!  And our photographer Brian LaBrada Photography captured everything perfectly through his creative eye.

A huge thanks to all of the vendors who sponsored our end of summer bash last night and thank you to all who attended! As all of you know, these meetings cannot happen without your support to those who donate their time and services to make sure our meetings are a great success. See you at the next one!
